About me

I trained as a mindfulness teacher with Breathworks and have done additional training with Bangor University and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.  I trained to teach yoga with the London Yoga Teacher Training Course, which is based on the principles of Scaravelli yoga.  I am also a qualified Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs teacher.  Both yoga and mindfulness have become increasingly important to me, and I care deeply about sharing them with other people.  

Before training to teach yoga and mindfulness, I was a television journalist and a freelance filmmaker and photographer for many years, working for organisations including the BBC, Al-Jazeera, English Nature, the Sunday Times magazine, Save the Children and the Disasters Emergency Committee. My work has won awards and has been broadcast and published by newspapers and magazines around the world.  I also taught broadcast journalism as a visiting lecturer at City University.  I have degrees in modern languages from Oxford (MA), in photography from London Guildhall University (MA) and in communications from Syracuse (MSc).
