About me

I trained as a mindfulness teacher with Breathworks and have done additional training with Bangor University and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre.  I have been teaching for more than ten years and have trained to supervise other teachers. I am registered with the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA).

My yoga training was with the London Yoga Teacher Training Course and was based on the traditions of Scaravelli and Hatha yoga.  I am also a qualified Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs teacher and I am registered as a teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga. I have been practising yoga for more than thirty years and working as a teacher for more than ten years. Both yoga and mindfulness have become increasingly important to me, and I care deeply about sharing them with other people.

Before training to teach yoga and mindfulness, I was a television journalist and a freelance filmmaker and photographer for many years, working for organisations including the BBC, Al-Jazeera, English Nature, the Sunday Times, Save the Children and the Disasters Emergency Committee. My work has won awards and has been broadcast and published by newspapers and magazines around the world.  I also taught broadcast journalism as a visiting lecturer at City University.  I have degrees in modern languages from Oxford (MA), in photography from London Guildhall University (MA) and in communications from Syracuse (MSc).

Do sign up for my newsletter, where I share suggestions for making mindfulness part of daily life, write about mindfulness courses and yoga classes and workshops I’m leading, and give information about events and resources that might interest you. You’ll get around 2 or 3 emails a year, so don’t worry about being swamped. And you can unsubscribe at any time.
