Mindfulness for Health
Mindfulness for Health is an 8-week course which helps people living with pain and illness to improve and even transform their quality of life. Clinical trials show mindfulness meditation can be as effective as prescription painkillers and can enhance the body’s natural healing systems. The Breathworks approach brings compassionate awareness to our experience of pain, illness or stress, and it helps us to make choices in how we respond, rather than reacting in an automatic or habitual way.
The course is based on ‘Mindfulness for Health’ by Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman, which won the 2014 British Medical Association award for the best Popular Medicine book.
